A new twist on my classic chocolate orange amaretti, made with toasted pecans as the star instead of almonds. To compliment the pecans, a splash of bourbon replaces the usual plum liqueur and almond extract. Perhaps it's not at all an amaretti anymore? But at least we've got the anchoring of method to conceptualize a new and delicious variant! A bite of chewy, nutty, sweetness.
