The fruits of fortune smiled upon me this June when I got invited to pick Blueberries at the “Weird Farm”–an animal rescue operation that also happens to have a small, thriving field of organic blueberries on its property. I spent an early morning there picking with a few friends and came away with 17 pounds of perfectly ripe gems. These are not your average market berry. They are smaller (i.e. more concentrated flavor), and picked in their prime. I'm so happy to pass these special berries on to you!

Blueberries, gin, and plenty of lemon are a summer match made in heaven. Peak ripeness, beautiful meyer lemon zest&juice, plus a hit of gin just before canning make this one a zinger. Heavenly pairing with chevre, ricotta, cream cheese (imagine swirled in a cheesecake!), or a lovely high-fat brie.
